The Vigilance Police has booked two ASIs on charges of corruption and has arrested one of them and efforts are on to arrest second accused. This was disclosed by SSP Vigilance Mandeep Singh Sidhu.
Sidhu disclosed thatFIR No.19 dt. 21 -10 -2020 u/s 7 PC Act and 120-B IPC PS VB Patiala Range Patiala was registered on the statement of Gurjeet Singh R/o Barnala against ASI Manohar Singh and ASI Hakam Singh PS City 2 Barnala.ASI Manohar Singh and ASI Hakam Singh demanded bribe of Rs. 50000/- from the compliantant to release his Weapon, Tractor and help in Compliant which was pending against him.
The matter was settled in Rs 25000 /- Vigilance Party caught red handed ASI Manohar Singh while accepting bribe of Rs 15000/-. Efforts are on to arrest the second accused ASI Hakam Singh.
